Several years ago when my partners and I were talking about forming an IT company, we had to have been seen as crazy in a market so full of good competitors. Fargo is a really neat community and often referred to as the “Silicon Prairie”. That means that when it comes to hiring an IT company, businesses here have choices. Not only that, we have more tech savvy businesses than other areas, so the demand for expertise it higher. What that does is create a great environment for IT support choice and an incredibly tough market to create a competitive IT support business.
Well, I am excited to say that TrueIT has just crossed into its 6th year of business and things are going strong. However, you may say I am biased and you would be right. Additionally, I can’t really be trusted if the CEO of the company is telling you we are great because my job is to be proud of our company…
However, this year and last year have been defining moments in recognition from organizations that constantly vet IT organizations all around the country. We were honored with our first award in 2015 for Next-Gen 250 from CRN Magazine. This award specifically honors IT companies that are building solutions that are considered next generations. That means they embrace cloud, business intelligence, business continuity, and mobility in ways that others traditionally have not or have been reluctant to try. It doesn’t mean “bleeding” edge, but it means strategically helping clients in areas that many companies choose to shy away from because they have always done it another way. The trouble is that “what got you here, wont’ get you there.” Since TrueIT has a core value of “Kaizen” or constant and never ending improvement, this is a natural fit for us.
In 2015, we also were honored with being a runner up in the FMWF Chamber of Commerce “Business of the Year”. This was a great honor considering our competition for this award where companies much larger than us, including the winner Discovery Benefits. Now, truly, they deserve it. They have a slide in their office, and over 500 employees. We don’t have a slide and come in under 25 employees. We were just excited to be in the same finalist category as them.
2016 started with some amazing honors as well. First, we were again nominated for the “Business of the Year” award and we received a second Next Gen 250 award. This means we ranked in the top 250 companies delivering next generations services in the country. We also received the CRN Fast Growth 150 of the top 150 fasted growing IT providers. In addition to the Next Gen and Fast Growth, we received the CRN honor of the MSP 500, or a top ranking of 500 Managed IT Service Providers in the country. We were very excited. Again, we are typically humble people that just keep our heads down and do great work, so we had no idea we would make ripples across such a competitive marketplace. We just like to work and we like technology that works.
To top off the 2016 year, I was really excited that we placed on the INC 5000 list. This was a really neat thing for us since we couldn’t qualify till this year to even be considered because you had to show certain years in business. Our ranking was 1648 and top 4 in the state of North Dakota. We were very excited and honored to earn a place on that coveted list. We had no idea we would do as well as we did.
So, as we begin 2017 and you read this seemingly “braggadocios” article about TrueIT, what would you, a client or prospective client make of it? We are a bunch of Egomaniacs? Hardly… In fact, we were the most surprised to be receiving these awards. We just like to work. And, we like our work. We also want Technology that Works, and we aim to make it work each and every day for our clients. Nothing really flashy. We just know you need it to make your business work, so that is what we do.
Our team has a set of values — Warm Fuzzies, Loyalty, and Kaizen — that we put to work each day for our clients. The results, well, they speak for themselves. It means less problems, more productivity, and feeling like a human being when talking with your IT services team. With all this talk about the “Next-Gen” and “Fast Growth”, the person can often be left in the dust. At TrueIT, we think that the person comes first and if we can reduce your tech problems, make you more productive, and treat you with the dignity, respect, and confidence you deserve, you’ll like TrueIT too. In reality, our GREATEST Honor of all, comes from you being our client and honoring us with your trust each and every day.
